Across the nation, the average gallon of gas cost $2.62 at the start of the week.

“Florida drivers are paying 18 cents per gallon less than this time last year,” said Matt Nasworthy, the Florida Public Affairs Director for AAA and the Auto Club Group. “A massive build in crude inventories and declining demand helped keep crude prices steady, while wholesale gasoline prices moved lower late last week.

West Palm Beach had the most expensive gas in Florida at $2.52 a gallon followed by Panama City at $2.51 a gallon and Gainesville at $2.46 a gallon.

The Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area and Orlando tied for the least expensive gas in Florida with an average price of $2.34 a gallon in both markets followed by Jacksonville at $2.35 a gallon.

According to AAA, Florida is ranked 13th among the states when it comes to least expensive gasoline with Louisiana having the least expensive gas in the nation.
