Ron DeSantis Makes Two Judicial Appointments, Including Ashley Moody’s Chief of Staff

This week, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced two judicial appointments: one to the Hamilton County Court and one to the Hillsborough County Court.

Jamie Tyndal, of Jasper, to serve as a judge on the Hamilton County Court

Tyndal has been the owner of the Law Office of Jamie L. Tyndal, P.A. since 2021. Previously, she served as the Office Supervisor at the State Attorney’s Office for the Third Judicial Circuit. She received her bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida. Tyndal fills the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Sonny Scaff.

Richard Martin, of Tampa, to serve as a judge on the Hillsborough County Court

Martin has served as chief of staff to Attorney General Ashley Moody since 2020. Previously, he served as the general counsel in the Office of the Attorney General. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from Florida State University. Martin fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Susan Lopez.
