Illegal Immigrants in Florida Now Eligible for Obamacare

When the Affordable Care Act, also known as ‘Obamacare‘, was passed in 2010, Republicans accused the legislation, saying it would give health care to illegal immigrants, and now the Biden administration, under Health and Human Services (HHS) is moving towards that path.

A new rule by the Biden White House will allow over 100,000 illegal immigrants to get healthcare coverage through Obamacare. Some of the illegal immigrants that will be covered are those that came to the U.S. as minors, known as DACA Dreamers, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

However, there will be other illegal immigrants allowed to obtain health coverage as well, but the White House has not identified them yet.

Biden says the rule change will take place beginning on November 1 2024, four days before the 2024 Presidential Election.

Not only does President Joe Biden want to give the “Dreamers” health care, but Biden also said he wants to grant them a pathway to citizenship along with others of millions of illegal immigrants.

Covering illegals under Obamacare was opposed by the Trump administration. They tried to end DACA but were ruled against in 2020 by the Supreme Court.

A legal challenge was filed in 2021, but the suit is still ongoing and has prevented enrollments in the program after a federal appeals court found that the Obama administration did not have the authority to institute it.

With illegal immigration ranking in most polls as a top issue among voters, a plan by Biden and the Democrats allowing illegal immigrants to receive health care coverage and also pushing amnesty may backfire on them.

Legal analysts predict there will be court challenges to this new rule by the Biden White House.
