Thousands of Illegal Immigrants in Florida Released by Biden Administration

New numbers by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) show thousands of illegal immigrants living in Florida were released by the Biden administration that should have been deported.

By orders of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), around 68,000 of those that entered the U.S. illegally, were let go by immigration officers. That number surged to a nearly a 70% increase from the same time last year and an overall increase of 140% from the whole fiscal year of 2023.

ICE numbers also show almost 180,000 illegals who were to be deported were not, but instead allowed to relocate anywhere in the U.S. This included illegal immigrants who were arrested and detained.

The Biden White House excuse of allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to be released into states like Florida comes from a new program under DHS called “Alternatives to Detention” (ATD) program.

Under the ATD program, it allows illegal immigrants from certain countries to be released into the U.S. under monitoring conditions set by DHS.

Immigrants must report where their location through a government app on a smartphone and wear a monitoring device on their wrist.

ICE officials report that under the ATD rule, the number of illegal immigrants living in Florida is around 14,000, with the city of Miami having the larger bulk.

Most of the illegal immigrants living in Florida and throughout the country the U.S are from countries of Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Honduras.

House GOP members say the DHS program is illegal. However, DHS defends the program claiming detaining illegals from various countries “isn’t necessary or appropriate” for all illegal border crossings.
