These Florida Counties Have the Most Independent Voters / No Party Affilliation

In Florida, voters who are not registered Republican or Democrat make up about 28.4% of Florida’s active registered voters — a large bloc, but not a majority. Republicans and Democrats combined make up about 71.6% of active registered voters.

Miami-Dade County has by far the largest number of voters outside the Republican and Democratic parties, with more than 422,000. The top five counties are all large metro counties: Miami-Dade, Broward, Orange, Palm Beach and Hillsborough.

Statewide, Florida had 3,318,339 NPA voters and 481,041 minor-party voters, for a combined 3,799,380 voters not registered with either major party.
