The campaign for Democratic candidate for Florida Attorney General José Javier Rodríguez commissioned polling firm SEA Polling & Strategic Design to survey Florida voters on the upcoming state (AG) Attorney General’s race.
According to the poll of 805 likely general election voters, Rodríguez leads Republican incumbent James Uthmeier 35% to 34%. The polling model threw in a 10-point Republican registration advantage (44% Republican, 34% Democratic, 22% no party or other).
The campaign says they are also winning among independent voters.
The poll also found that nearly a third of voters remain undecided, with many still unfamiliar with either candidate.
“James Uthmeier has been Attorney General for nearly two years, and most Floridians still don’t know who he is,” said the Rodríguez camp.
Democrats have been attacking Uthmeier over Alligator Alcatraz and the issue of Hope Florida.
Results from the poll in key parts of the state:
In the I‑4 corridor, where voters backed Trump by 8 points in 2024, Rodríguez leads 36% to 32%.
Latino voters are breaking his way. Among non‑Cuban Latinos, Rodríguez leads 57% to 18%.
Independents lean Rodríguez. Among voters registered with no party or a minor party, Rodríguez leads 34% to 26%.
Uthmeier wins just 61% of registered Republicans, while Rodríguez wins 72% of registered Democrats.
On enthusiasm, SEA Polling says Democrats are more excited than GOP voters by a margin of 77%-57%.
