The latest numbers by the University of Florida’s Election Lab reveal some early stats of the 2026 midterm election.

BY PARTY

Nationwide, for those who have already cast their ballot. This includes vote-by-mail and early voting. Democrats lead Republicans 45.2% to 30.7%, with NPA at 24.2%.

BY AGE GROUPS

The largest age group is seniors over 65. They have 50.3% of the total vote. This is followed by voters aged 41-65. As of today, 35% of that age group voted. Third were voters aged 26-40, with 10.3% of the vote, followed by younger voters; 18-25 were only 4.5% and had already voted.

BY GENDER

Females are outperforming males by almost 10%. According to UF Election Lab, currently, 54% of females have already voted compared to 44.3% of males.

BY RACE

Non-Hispanic White voters are by far the largest group, with almost 60& of the vote. That is followed by Non-Hispanic Black voters at 28.4%. Hispanic voters came in at 2.8%. Non-Hispanic Asian voters were at 2%.

UF Election Lab also posted numbers of those absentee ballot requests, with many that have not yet been returned.

In Florida, the count is fluctuating daily when comparing Democratic voters to Republicans, but some political analysts are saying don’t forget to focus on registered independents, which may be breaking towards the democrats.
