After an unexpected loss to Angie Nixon in the primary election earlier this week, former Democratic Senate candidate Alex Vindman announced he will donate his unused campaign funds to Democratic candidates in the general election.
Vindman raised approximately $16 million. According to a report from the Washington Post, he had spent more than $9 million by the end of July. No specific candidates or organizations have been named as beneficiaries as of the time of this article, but Vindman vowed to give it to Democratic Party efforts to win in November.
“I want you to know that your support is going where you intended: to help elect Democrats everywhere and to put a check on Donald Trump’s power,” Vindman said.
