Are Florida Republicans Wasting Time On Hearings About Biden’s Health Decline?

Florida Congressional Republicans, including Jimmy Patronis and Byron Donalds, are advocating to hold congressional hearings on former President Biden’s mental capabilities during his time in office.

Members of the Florida GOP congressional delegation have said they want to know who was running the show if not Biden, who was making the decisions, and who was in control of the autopen.

A congressional investigation would call former Biden staffers and Biden’s former physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor.

Mike O’ Neil from the Landmark Legal Foundation told Florida Daily that the investigation should start looking into whether the autopen was used to sign many of Biden’s pardons and whether he signed them or if his staff signed them.

“What’s the point. Really? Biden isn’t on the ballot in 2026, you think the GOP would focus on more important issues,” said Florida TV host and podcaster Steve Vancore.

Conservative legal commentator Ron Davis thinks GOP hearings on Biden’s health are a waste of time.

“Instead of Congress doing an investigation, let the FBI do it instead. It’s a waste of time for Congress. We have regulations that need to be identified and eliminated. We have agencies that you need to withdraw from their budgets, and we have regulatory issues that President Trump can’t do by himself, and we need Congress to help him out,” said Davis.

Davis also points out that it’s unclear how much Biden’s former physician can or would divulge due to the HIPAA laws.

Davis says that if you want to address an issue related to Biden and the autopen, then some reforms should be made, and a law should be passed that simply states the president cannot use the autopen for official acts and duties.
