U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has enjoyed a free hand during her two tenures as the first female speaker. Lately, though, she seems to have lost her touch with her over-the-top handling of all three major legislative initiatives for President Joe Biden: the infrastructure bill, the Build Back Better Bill, and the Freedom to Vote Bill.
But Pelosi has also manipulated the constitutional process of impeachment and multiple investigations, which are at best political witch hunts, and former President Donald Trump has called her out for exactly that.
Imagine for a moment though what will happen when the Republicans win back the House after the 2022 midterm elections, and it looks increasingly to be a huge reset, perhaps in both chambers.
A Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., will almost certainly initiate his own series of investigations–and I suggest that he begin with January 6th. We all know that Pelosi is ultimately responsible for the security of the House just as U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, is of the upper chamber.
What happens if subpoenas are issued, interviews are undertaken, and records are obtained about communications prior to January 6th? Will Pelosi be found guilty of twiddling her thumbs while Rome burned? What intelligence was made available to her that should have motivated her to better protect her chamber and the representatives as they were counting the electoral votes to officially determine who was the next president?
Did Pelosi do anything to secure the perimeter of the Capitol? Did she fail to request National Guard troops to complement the Capitol Police who were there defending the ramparts? Did she take any action to protect the institution?
Was there enough intelligence available for her to have made better decisions to protect the Capitol and its members?
These questions must be fully investigated and Pelosi, using her own logic, must come forward and provide the testimony needed, so America will know the full and unvarnished truth about January 6th.
An investigation that promises to make for a great Hollywood movie is the unsavory and salacious details about U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and his tryst with a Chinese spy. Pelosi buried that story and refused to consider what might be potentially one of the most egregious violations of trust ever witnessed on this side of the Pond. Oh, England has these types of scandals regularly when a member of Parliament has affairs with a prostitute or a foreigner, and these elected idiots often resign, but here in America, our Puritan ideals demand an investigation.
Swalwell wasn’t even made to resign from the U.S. House Intelligence Committee, much less from Congress. It will be titillating to learn about what information he provided to the Chinese spy in turn for another romp in the bed, eh?
America loves nothing more than a sexual misdeed especially when it involves a congressman and an attractive spy helping our most formidable enemy. Imagine what we will learn and how Pelosi manipulated the story to keep him on one of the most sensitive committees in either chamber.
The next investigation should be about the alleged “influence by Russia” in the 2016 election. We now know from hindsight that the Steele dossier was concocted by Democratic operatives on the payroll of the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton’s campaign and then vetted through a law firm to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
What did Pelosi do to keep this ruse of Russian influence with the Trump campaign alive and well? What information did she have about the so-called evidence supplied via the dossier and what did she do to protect certain high-ranking Democratic federal bureaucrats that were intimately entangled in perpetuating this falsehood?
An investigation is certainly called for regarding the infamous Hunter Biden laptop that he so stupidly left behind at a computer repair shop. What did Pelosi know and when did she know it? What actions did she take as House speaker to kill the story and keep the House from investigating this important matter?
One could go on, but its best to stop now because it’s only a matter of about 11 months until there will be a changing of the guard and almost certainly Pelosi will not be there to witness it, as she will surely retire rather than suffer the indignity of being just another congressperson. She has had her fun, her turn at the pinnacle of power, and Republicans will only be so happy to return the favor of multiple investigations to show Americans that one-party rule is indeed corrupting.
The only remaining question is how will the mainstream media play it? Initially, they will criticize it as crass retribution but then all the Republicans need to do is to begin showing some evidence of corruption and manipulation by Pelosi and the details will be hard to hide.
Nancy Pelosi will suffer greatly in these investigations, with unauthorized leaks, innuendo, and the like to make her look bad, although Republicans will not have to work hard since she played the same game and now must answer for her misdeeds. It will be interesting, entertaining, and a valuable lesson in karma, that what goes around always comes around.
