Border Crisis News: Rubio, Scott Reject Senate Immigration Deal

Marco Rubio and Rick Scott condemned the Senate’s $180 Billion immigration bill that includes $60 Billion in foreign aid to various countries.

A $118 billion immigration bill that devotes $20 billion to border security but includes $60 billion for foreign aid to Ukraine was rejected by Florida’s two Republican Senators, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott.

“It reads like a parody of an actual border security bill,” Rubio said.

In response to Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy‘s remark that the border never closes, Sen. Scott said. “This is not a border security deal.  Scott also used his rebuttal as an opportunity to criticize an aspect of the package that the general public may not have been aware of until today.

“Not allowed to close the border, but you are now paying for lawyers to represent illegal aliens unlawfully crossing the border,” Scott said. “That’s how this bill uses your tax dollars.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson vowed to kill the Senate bill if it ultimately ends up in the U.S. House.
