Brian Mast Calls on Veterans and Volunteers to Take Part in Library of Congress History Project

Mast, an Army veteran who lost both his legs when serving in Afghanistan, said veterans can share important information and help continue to shape American history.

Last week, U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., called on veterans to share their stories by taking part in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP).

Mast, an Army veteran who lost both his legs when serving in Afghanistan, said veterans can share important information and help continue to shape American history.

“It takes a special kind of person to put on the uniform in defense of our nation and those who do are a living, breathing pieces of the history of the United States,” Mast said. “That’s why I’m so excited to announce this unique opportunity for volunteers in our community to come together to help veterans share their story with the nation, preserving it for generations to come.”

Mast is seeking volunteers to help conduct interviews with veterans to be submitted to the Library of Congress as a part of the Veterans History Project.

“This project is a great opportunity for the community to come together and help veterans share their story with the nation and preserve it for generations to come. Rep. Mast recently shared his story as a part of the Veterans History Project and is inviting members of the community to come out and help our veterans share theirs, too,” the congressman’s office noted.
