Campaign Dollars Slowing, But Florida Democrats Still ‘Riding with Biden’

“I’m still supporting Biden and he will show the American people he is still up for the challenge,” says Central Florida Democrat Congressman Darren Soto.

South Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz says she’s still “Ridin’ with Biden” and the president had shown “how a world leader with his hand firmly on the tiller of our ship of state,” said Wasserman Schultz.

In fact, there isn’t a U.S. House Democrat from Florida who supports the party ditching Biden for another nominee.

Florida members Rep. Frederica Wilson and Rep. Maxwell Frost, a self-described socialist, haven’t even hinted at supporting Kamala Harris for president.

Democrats have been telling Florida newspaper that supporting someone else besides Biden isn’t a plan, and they are still telling campaign workers to continue canvass neighborhood in support of the Democratic ticket.

“If their plan (Florida Democrats) is to move Biden to the side, they have been very hush-hush about it,” said GOP consultant Jamie Miller.

But the picture isn’t all that rosy after Democratic donor and well know Florida attorney John Morgan told CNN he is pausing his donations to the party until they find out who is going to be the nominee.

“I’m ready to go full steam ahead, if I can — the only reason I paused it, is because of the uncertainty of what’s going on and all the chatter,” said Morgan.

Moran says he’s around $1 million in commitments for the Biden-Harris Team, but explained the reasoning behind his current pause. ‘I’m not going to raise money if there’s not going to be a fundraiser here at my home — and with this uncertainty,” said Morgan.
