This week, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) honored U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., “for his leadership and record of bipartisan work to strengthen U.S. global leadership.”
The USGLC also honored U.S. Sec. of State Antony Blinken, and U.S. Sens. Cory Booker, D-NJ, and Joni Ernst, R-Iowa. Gimenez used to serve on USGLC’s Florida State Advisory Committee.
“It’s a privilege to honor Representative Gimenez, who, as a former USLGC state leader, has demonstrated – both in and out of Congress – his commitment to the importance of America’s global leadership and why it matters to Florida families,” said Liz Schrayer, the president and CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. “As we are seeing more and more, global stability impacts American stability, and Representative Gimenez’s voice on the importance of diplomacy and development to local economic and security interests is critical.”
Gimenez, who served as mayor of Miami-Dade County for almost a decade before being elected to Congress in 2020, represents parts of Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. His district includes Homestead Air Reserve Base and Naval Air Station Key West.
