Clarence ‘CJ’ James Secures Jacksonville Firefighters Endorsement, Becoming the Public Safety Candidate

Continuing the momentum of his campaign, the Jacksonville Firefighters voted unanimously to endorse Clarence James for his incredible record of public service. There hasn’t been a school board candidate who has secured both endorsements for many years.

The FOP endorsed Clarence back in October of 2025!
With the powerful unions in town making their choice, it’s clear that this campaign is becoming a one-lane race, with Clarence James commanding the lead. The active school board police sergeant has talked about the issues, and it’s clear his campaign message is resonating across the district.

Clarence James was born and raised on the Westside of Jacksonville, where his family also has deep roots for over five generations! He served his country in the US Navy, then embarked on a career in Law enforcement, where he retired as a Lieutenant from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in 2016 with 22 years of unblemished service. After retirement, he became a legislative staff member to the Florida House of Representatives before transitioning back into law enforcement with the Duval County School Police Department.
