Conservative Investors Rank Disney as the Most Woke Company

The American Conservative Values ETF (ACVF) released its annual survey of investors, which ranked Disney as the most liberal company in America.

ACVF President Tom Carter noted that, usually, that title would have gone to companies like Google or Facebook. While both of those companies made the top five in the survey, they were still outdone by Disney.

Carter said subscribers and investors with ACVF were asked to name the most woke companies of on the S&P 500.

“It’s an ongoing informal survey intended to identify companies with woke or liberal reputations, as well as capture trends over time,” said ACVF CEO William Flaig, one of the group’s co-founders.

In 2021, Disney ranked low on the list of woke companies, with only 10 percent of ACVF investors ranking it as woke.

Observers note the increase most likely came from the war of words between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Disney officials over the passage of the Parental Rights Bill that banned teaching gender identity in elementary public schools from K-3rd grade.

“It’s clear Disney’s adoption of left-wing ideology led by its war on parental rights is harming the company’s brand among politically conservative investors,” said Carter.

Carter said there are 29 corporations that ACVF currently boycotts, including Disney and almost every company that ranks high in the survey.

Financial columnist and commentator Steve Beaman told Florida Daily that the number of investors becoming angry with businesses mixing politics into their operations is growing.

“Corporations need to focus on products and customers along with shareholder returns,” he said. “That should be the main focus, not some agenda involving political and social issues.”

Beaman also said corporations that want to take a position on divisive issues do it at their own peril since their stances could turn off investors and clients.

ACVF noted its top focus is shareholders’ returns and tries to provide an alternative investment option for conservatives.
