CYIENT Defense Services Expanding in South Florida

After working with the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB), CYIENT plans to create 50 new jobs with an average salary of $85,000, expanding from its current 150 employees in the region. The company has also invested more than $3.5 million into a new facility.

This week, CYIENT Defense Services, an engineering and technology company, announced it will expand its efforts in South Florida.

After working with the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB), CYIENT plans to create 50 new jobs with an average salary of $85,000, expanding from its current 150 employees in the region. The company has also invested more than $3.5 million into a new facility.

“CYIENT Defense Services provides engineering and technology solutions to global industry leaders,” the company noted. “In Palm Beach County, the primary focus will be in aerospace, with plans to expand into more industries in the future. With extensive experience in multiple rotary and fixed-wing systems produced by U.S. and European original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), CYIENT Defense Services has many customers in the aviation, aerospace, and engineering (A/A/E) industries. In fact, Palm Beach County is home to over 1,350 A/A/E related companies, putting CYIENT in close proximity to current and future customers. The company also works on ground-based platforms through their transportation and off-highway engineering businesses.”

Kelly Smallridge (pictured), the president and CEO of the Business Development Board, explained how the new jobs will help the area.

“Palm Beach County’s A/A/E sector employs approximately 17,000 residents with an average salary of $90,000,” said Smallridge. “This expansion is a testament to the quality workforce available in the county. CYIENT will have access to not only the strong A/A/E cluster here, but also the diverse manufacturing sector.”

BDB helped CYIENT by providing information on sales and use tax exemptions for manufacturing companies, connected it with Space Florida and helped expand the talent pool by connecting it with CareerSource Palm Beach County, Palm Beach State College and Florida Atlantic University.
