Florida Cities, Metro areas / Counties with over 100,000 residents that had the most violent crimes:

  • Miami-Dade County: 13,732 violent crimes, including 198 murders.
  • Orange County (Orlando): 7,805 violent crimes, including 94 murders.
  • Duval County (Jacksonville): 5,611 violent crimes, including 112 murders.

Florida cities with at least 100,000 population in Florida that had the highest totals of violent crime:

  • Orlando: 860.4 violent crimes per 100,000 people. (2,524 total)
  • Tallahassee: 773 violent crimes per 100,000 people (1,516 total total) in last reported year.
  • Gainesville: 771 violent crimes per 100,000 (1,042 total) in last reported year.
  • *In Tampa‘s zip code 33605 , Ybor City has a violent crime rate of 69.6. By comparison, the U.S. average is 22.7.

Florida cities with populations between 50,000 and 99,999 that had the highest rates of violent crime:
