With the first four games of the 2025 college football season in the rearview mirror, an increasing number of fans and analysts have said they expect the University of Florida to ultimately terminate its contract with head coach Billy Napier, who has a losing overall record during his four years in Gainesville.
Earlier this week, a simple, single-page website was launched to provide Florida Gators football fans with an easy way to track Napier’s employment status: IsBillyNapierFiredYet.com.
The website’s creator’s name is only partially provided as “Max R.” At the top of the site, the question “Is Billy Napier Fired Yet?” is displayed in text above images of a juvenile species of the Crocodilia order, (unclear if it is a crocodile or alligator) laying next to a package of cigarettes and a bottle that appears to contain an alcoholic beverage, both set against a backdrop of a generic football playbook screenshot, with the answer “No”, displayed at the bottom.
The upper right corner of the page includes a donation button that reads, “Buy me a beer. I drank all mine watching this offense!” and links to a third-party-hosted donation page. Below the donation link button is an ongoing tracker of donors. As of Sept. 25, it showed more than 15,184 individuals, who are humorously nicknamed as “Sun Belt Billy Haters.”
If UF were to fire Napier this season, it would owe him a buyout of approximately $20 million.
Florida’s football team has a bye week this Saturday, then hosts the University of Texas on Sat. Oct. 4th. The Longhorns are led by Arch Manning and ranked among the AP Top 25. Florida is unranked, with a 1-3 win-loss record to date.
