Duval School Board Candidate Receives Huge Police Endorsement

School Board candidate Clarence “CJ” James just secured the Jacksonville FOP endorsement.

At his campaign kickoff, Jacksonville notable John Keane was present. John Keane was noted for his role in the Police and Fire Pension Fund, and his support will go a long way on the Westside. John Keane is also the President of the Retired Employees Association of Jacksonville. Outside law enforcement, Former Jacksonville Firefighter President Randy Wyse was in attendance and is supporting Clarence James. Businessman Toney Sleiman has also expressed full support for Clarence James. Reinforcing the FOP endorsement was also National FOP Secretary, Jimmy Holderfield.

Clarence James had a successful career at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, with a proclamation from former Sheriff Mike Williams thanking Clarence for his 21 years of service. Clarence retired as a JSO Lieutenant and was the first Dual Certified Lieutenant in JSO, serving his career on the Corrections side.

Clarence James was born and raised on the Westside of Jacksonville, where his family also has deep roots. He served his country in the US Navy and is married with five children. Clarence’s children are also serving Jacksonville, one son is a police officer, one son is a nurse, one daughter works in cosmetics, and two children are learning in our public schools. He has built a career defined by loyalty, leadership, and a deep commitment to community safety.

To date, Clarence James has already secured more than $25,000 for his campaign for the school board. The campaign aims to garner additional support from law enforcement.
