Florida AG Moody Advocates for Trump’s Border Immigration Policies

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is vocalizing her support for President-Elect Donald Trump‘s plan to secure the US Southern border with Mexico.

Below is an official statement from Moody’s office:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Ashley Moody is standing in support of President-Elect Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Over the past four years of the failed Biden administration, more than 10 million illegal immigrants poured into the country through the open border with Mexico. As a result of Biden’s dereliction of duty, transnational criminal organizations used the chaos at the southern border to bring massive amounts of illicit substances, like fentanyl, into the United States, resulting in the drug overdose deaths of more than 100,000 Americans each year. Attorney General Moody and a coalition of 18 other attorneys general support President Trump’s plan on day one to clear up the border, reinstate law and order, and protect Americans.

“The last four years, we have seen the Biden administration ignore the rule of law, destroy any semblance of order at our Southwest border, allow millions of unvetted illegal immigrants into the country and put the safety of Americans at risk,” Moody said. “We have aggressively fought back in court against these unlawful and irresponsible actions and won many legal victories. However, the Biden administration never stopped creating new unlawful policies.”

“As the country looks forward to change in administrations, we are excited to have a president who puts the interests of Americans first. I am proud to stand with my colleagues from other states in support of President Trump’s immigration plan to reverse the dangerous policies enacted by the outgoing administration on DAY ONE.”

Over the past four years, Attorney General Moody has taken legal action after legal action to fight back against the Biden administration’s unlawful and irresponsible immigration policies. Attorney General Moody won in court on numerous occasions.

In a joint statement today, Attorney General Moody and the coalition write, “As chief law enforcement and chief legal officers in our States, we Republican attorneys general are grateful that President Donald J. Trump will restore the rule of law by securing the border and ending the disastrous Biden Administration policies that caused a historic surge of illegal immigration into our country. The Biden Administration took dozens of executive actions that weakened border controls and sanctioned illegal immigration from around the world. Republican attorneys general fought back by taking the Biden Administration to court for ending successful Trump Administration immigration policies and replacing them with new policies that violated the law and encouraged illegal immigration. The Republican attorneys general prevailed in virtually every one of these lawsuits.”

Attorney General Moody and the coalition also write, “President Trump’s America First immigration policies resulted in record-low illegal immigration during his first term. As evidenced by his historic victory in November, Americans rightly believe that President Trump will once again keep our borders secure and restore the rule of law in immigration. We look forward to returning to the successful America First policies that protected our country during the first Trump Administration.”

The attorneys general also pledge to work with President Trump to “secure the border, end failed Biden Administration immigration policies, and deport dangerous criminals who are unlawfully present in our country.”

Attorney General Moody is joined by the attorneys general of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota and West Virginia.
