Florida Attorney General to Host Law Enforcement Training to Combat Antisemitism

Following the latest Hate Crimes in Florida Report, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody will host a law enforcement training session to address the rise of antisemitism on college campuses.

“Florida is a law-and-order state, and we have taken extraordinary steps to protect the Jewish community since the October 7th attacks,” Moody said in an official statement. “While law enforcement continues to vigilantly protect Jewish Floridians, we are seeing an increase in reported antisemitic hate crimes. That is why we are hosting a training to help combat antisemitism on college campuses.”

The report indicates a troubling 94% increase in hate crimes against Jewish Floridians from 2022 to 2023, with incidents spiking after the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel in October 2023. In response, Moody is organizing training to equip law enforcement and investigators to combat these hate crimes.

Since the October attacks, antisemitic incidents have more than tripled across the U.S., especially on college campuses. Moody has previously reached out to higher education officials, emphasizing Florida’s zero-tolerance policy against antisemitism and informing them of state laws prohibiting such hate crimes.
