Florida Democrats Trying To Excite Voters With Harris At Top Of The Ticket

Florida Democrats seem to approve of VP Kamala Harris as the head of the presidential ticket, more than Joe Biden.

Supporters of the pro-abortion Amendment 4, say that Kamala Harris is exciting the base and “securing reproductive freedoms for millions of Floridians.”

Democrats are also raving about a rally that took place this weekend at the Villages in GOP-controlled Sumter County.

The Villages-News reported that hundreds of golf carts from residents inside the golf community were causing traffic jams in support of Harris.

“Young people are energized, and so are we,” said Villager Joyce Wiegand. “I’m really glad she appeals to young people because they’ve been marginalized in voting for years.”

Others attending the rally said Kamala supports Social Security, Medicare and health care. Some inside the GOP seemed to be caught a little off guard.

“When you think of the Villages, you think of conservatives,” a Republican consultant told Florida Daily. “The Villages is filled with hardcore MAGA and Republican support, but to see this type of crowd showing up and supporting Kamala Harris was somewhat surprising.”

Some Democrats at the rally attributed their support for Harris to abortion, while others said it was to rejuvenate the party. Some said it was time for a woman of color to be president.

One man said he was supporting Harris because she was tough.

“Kamala is eloquent, but she’s also a tough woman,” one man said of Harris, who served as a prosecutor and California’s Attorney General before she was elected senator. A tough woman is a turn-on for me. My wife is a tough woman.”

Is this a wake-up call for local Trump supporters in the county? Some may say yes, but others write it off, pointing out that a huge chunk of voters in that county live in the Villages.

“There’s more of us (republicans) than Democrats in the Villages,” said one on-looker at the event.
