Florida Drivers Top Car Picks

New research reveals Americans’ preferred car brands, as determined by Google search data. The analysis reveals regional differences in car brand search popularity nationwide.

The latest findings show Toyota and Tesla leading in many states.

Vehicle performance data provider 0-60 Specs has revealed the most-Googled car brands in each U.S. state, with Toyota coming out on top.

The analysis examined average monthly search volumes over the past year for 105 vehicle manufacturers across all 50 states to determine the most popular in each.

Toyota is the most-Googled car brand in 20 states, with a combined average monthly search volume exceeding 4.2 million.

In Florida, Toyota leads with an average of 306,665 monthly searches. Toyota’s popularity across diverse regions highlights its broad appeal among American consumers.

In second place was Tesla with 297,968 searches. In third was Ford with 203,429 searches. At number 4 was Honda with 202,173 searches, and at number 5 was Mercedes-Benz with 183,909 searches.

The data indicates a growing interest in electric vehicles, with Tesla featuring prominently in search rankings across various states. This suggests an increase in consumer curiosity and consideration of electric cars.

Additionally, traditional automakers such as Toyota, Ford, and Honda maintain strong search volumes, underscoring their continued relevance and popularity among American consumers.

“These search trends offer valuable insight into consumer interests and shifting preferences in the automotive industry. The high search volumes for brands like Toyota and Tesla reflect a blend of reliability and innovation that resonates with drivers today. Understanding these patterns can help manufacturers and dealers meet the evolving needs of their customers,’ said Emir Bacic, owner of 0-60 Specs.

Bacic said one reason for Tesla’s popularity, beyond its attractive sustainability-focused business model, is that consumers may have heard Tesla’s share price has steadily decreased since early 2025. They may be waiting for new deals or promotions as the company seeks to increase sales.
