Todd Golden, the University of Florida (UF) head basketball coach, is under investigation after allegations of stalking and sexual harassment.
Golden, who became the head coach of the Gators in 2022, has been accused of sexually harassing, exploiting, and stalking female students, according to a Title IX complaint. This complaint was submitted anonymously to TV20 and other media organizations.
Gainesville’s ABC News affiliate TV20 reached out to Gator basketball and the University Athletic Association, but they declined to comment. When asked about the allegations, university officials provided the following statement.
“In order to comply with federal law, the university cannot comment on or confirm any Title IX inquiries, complaints, or investigations.” – UF Spokesperson.
The Title IX investigation documents allege that Todd Golden made unwanted sexual advances on social media, requested sexual favors, and sent inappropriate photos of his genitals while traveling for UF. He is also accused of taking photos of women and their vehicles, later sending these images to the women.
Additionally, there are multiple instances where he allegedly showed up at locations where he knew the women would be present.
To avoid being detected online, Golden allegedly “liked” women’s Instagram photos, waited for them to see the notification, and then “un-liked” the images.
Prio to this incident, students, fans and school leadership had high hopes for Golden. He led Florida back to the NCAA Tournament last March, as the Gators won the highest amount of games (24) since 2016-17. Their win total included an appearance in the SEC Tournament championship game.
