Florida Home Sellers Waiting Over 100 days to Complete the Sale

The latest 2025 data on home sales shows that those selling their homes in Florida are waiting much longer to close their sale.

Real Estate firm Zillow ranks Florida as having the third slowest housing market in the country.

Zillow analyzed the average time it takes for an offer to be accepted aka ‘days to pending,’ and ‘days to close,’ the average number of days it takes to close the sale. Researchers calculated the average time for a property listing to go from having an offer accepted to close and ranked each state from the highest to the lowest number of days.

Replacement window expert Dave Charron, President of Universal Windows Direct of Syracuse (https://www.universalwindowssyracuse.com/entry-doors-syracuse-ny) says the housing market throughout the country is continuing to slow down and becoming increasingly unaffordable with homes simply not selling.

“Now, there are many reasons for this, tariffs making materials and exchanges more challenging with UBS even reporting that the average family home can become $7,885 more expensive as a result as well as general day-to-day expenses continuing to rise making it harder to save for a downpayment,’ said Charron.

Charron advises sellers that they should focus on the quality of their home, investing in making your home look perfect inside and out.

He says It doesn’t have to be expensive, but taking the time to touch up small imperfections can go a long way in motiviating a buyer to put in an offer.

“You can start with the front door or decking in the yard for example, replacing, fixing or upgrading these and whilst it may not seem like a necessity can now be a make or break for buyers in the current market.” He said.

Texas was the state coming out on top as the housing market continues to suffer throughout the US.
