A Florida man has been convicted after posing as a flight attendant to fraudulently book more than 100 free flights over a six-year period.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, 35-year-old Tiron Alexander used false identities and credentials to pose as a flight crew member for four major airlines between 2018 and 2024. Authorities say he accessed airline portals reserved for employees and used them to reserve 120 flights without paying.
Court records show Alexander used 30 different badge numbers and employment start dates to carry out the scheme, at one point flying 34 times on a single airline. He claimed to be a flight attendant for multiple carriers, including Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines, in order to take advantage of travel benefits typically available only to airline employees.
On June 5, Alexander was found guilty of wire fraud and unlawfully entering secure areas of airports under false pretenses.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 25. He faces up to 20 years in prison for the wire fraud charge and up to 10 years for illegally accessing secure airport areas.
