The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Announced the launch of FlPythonInvasion.org new website devoted to the official Florida Python Control Plan.

FWC posted the news across its social media accounts, touting it as a hub for the latest information on research and management efforts involving the invasive species.

“If you’re looking to learn more about Burmese pythons in FL, slither on over to the new Florida Python Control Plan website, your all-in-one source for the latest information on these invasive constrictors from both the FWC and our partners. Explore the hiss-tory of Burmese python control, discover ongoing research and management efforts, and learn how to get involved and join the coil-lition to protect native wildlife and our unique ecosystems.”

During the past three decades, Burmese pythons (Python molurus bivittatus) have rapidly expanded are large constrictor snakes native to Southeast Asia that have been introduced to southern Florida through the accidental escape or intentional release of captive animals.
