Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida’s high school graduation rate has risen to 89.7 percent for the 2023-2024 school year. This marks an increase of 1.7 percentage points compared to last year, exceeding the pre-pandemic rate of 86.9 percent from the 2018-2019 school year.
The 2023-2024 graduation rate is the highest in Florida’s history, with the exception of the pandemic years of 2019-20 and 2020-21, when graduating classes were exempt from the statewide standardized assessment requirements established by state law.
Since Governor DeSantis took office, Florida’s graduation rate has significantly improved, climbing from 70.6 percent to the record high of 89.7 percent in 2023-2024.
