“Florida ranks high in the U.S. for STEM salaries, driven by high-paying medical roles like orthopedic surgeons and anesthesiologists. The state’s strong healthcare industry and growing tech sector continue to offer some of the most competitive pay in the nation,” said Malte Landwehr, CMO of Peec AI.
Across the U.S., medical roles consistently dominate STEM salary rankings, while emergency medical technicians and lab technicians tend to earn the least. As STEM careers evolve, salary gaps between high and low paying roles will play an important role of continued education and specialization.
Other high-paying STEM jobs include cardiologists and software engineers, though they fall slightly below these top earners. Emergency medical technicians earn the least among STEM occupations in the state, with an average annual salary of $62,276.
