Former Key West Firefighter Arrested With Weapons, Bomb-Making Materials and City Infrastructure Diagrams

A former firefighter from Key West has been arrested after authorities discovered a cache of weapons, bomb-making components, and detailed diagrams of the city’s infrastructure inside his residence.

According to a report from Keys Weekly and a statement from the Key West Police Department, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at the individual’s home, uncovering a troubling collection that included firearms, materials commonly used to create explosives, and schematics of various critical areas around the city.

Authorities have not yet disclosed what the former firefighter’s intentions may have been, but the presence of such materials, coupled with the diagrams, has raised serious concerns among local officials and residents.

The individual, who had been previously employed by the Key West Fire Department, is now facing multiple charges as the investigation continues. Law enforcement agencies are working closely with federal authorities to determine whether there is a broader threat to the community.

The Keys Weekly reported that police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as they assess the full scope of the situation.
