Greg Steube Forms Agriculture Advisory Committee

Last week, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., launched the Agriculture Advisory Committee in Florida’s 17th Congressional District.

Ranchers and producers of varying industries across the district have joined the committee.

“Agriculture is the backbone of Florida’s 17th District. As your representative, it’s my job to advocate in Washington for Florida’s growers and agriculture workers. Thank you to all the organizations who participated in our advisory meeting launch. I look forward to many more discussions of our shared goals and legislative priorities. Together we’ll ensure Florida’s agriculture industry continues to remain strong,” said Steube.

The committee will help to provide advice, information, and recommendations to Steube and his staff on issues relating to federal agriculture policy.

The first Agriculture Advisory Committee meeting was held at the Agri-Civic Center Exposition Hall in Arcadia. Topics of discussion included:

  • Water issues
  • Livestock
  • Immigration, visas, and labor
  • Supply Chain
  • Future priorities in a Congressional Farm Bill
