As he starts his third term in Congress, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., stressed that he intends to fight for conservative principles and against the Democratic leadership.
First elected in 2016 after serving in the Florida House, Steube weighed in on beginning his new term.
“Today, as we convene the 117th Congress, all members of Congress take the oath of office,” Steube said this week. “This oath is our public affirmation to support the U.S. Constitution. It should serve to remind every member that our actions and policies serve the citizens of our districts and the greater common good of the nation.”
Steube also turned his fire towards U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and the Democrats’ agenda.
“As Speaker Pelosi maintains the gavel for the House and signals her intent to advance a radical progressive agenda, we should all reflect on this oath and question the Democrats’ rejection of the principles that have guided our government for more than two centuries. Entering this new session, I am honored to serve the 17th Congressional District of Florida and will continue to stand up for our shared values and sacred American freedoms,” Steube said.
Representing all of Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Highlands and Okeechobee Counties and parts of Lee, Polk and Sarasota Counties, Steube has served on the U.S. House Judiciary; the Oversight and Reform; and the Veterans Affairs Committees.
