Hi, what are you looking for?

I Live in Ocala. Who is My Congressman or Congresswoman?

Frequently asked questions by Florida voters include inquiries about government representatives in Congress and state representatives.

With the exception of the northern suburbs of Ocala, Florida Congressional District 6 covers the majority of the city. Currently, the 6th Congressional District doesn’t have a sitting US House Representative, due to former Congressman Michael Waltz being appointed to National Security Advisor. A special election to replace Waltz will be held on April 1, 2025. State Senator Randy Fine won the Republican Primary Election. Fine was endorsed by President Donald Trump despite the fact that Fine didn’t reside within the district, and still represents portions of Brevard County as a state senator.

On the Democratic side, Joshua Weil won the Democratic Primary. Weil’s career experience includes working as a teacher. He is affiliated with the Islamic Center of Orlando, the Florida Education Association, the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus, and Progressives for Democracy in America – Florida Chapter.[

Fine is considered a heavy favorite to win the district, where Republicans have dominated recent elections.

lf you live in the northern suburbs of Ocala, then Congresswoman Kat Cammack is your House Representative. Cammack represents Florida Congressional District 3.

Cammack’s district covers a wide span of north central Florida, including AlachuaBakerBradfordColumbiaDixieGilchristHamiltonLevySuwannee, and Union counties, along with the majority of Lafayette and Marion County.

The city of Gainesville is in the district as well as part of Ocala (its northern suburbs), and portions of the Jacksonville metropolitan area.
