Jimmy Patronis Ahead of Adam Hattersley in New Poll of Florida CFO Race

A new poll from Mason Dixon shows state CFO Jimmy Patronis ahead of former state Rep. Adam Hatterlsey.

First appointed to the post by then Gov. Rick Scott in 2017 when then CFO Jeff Atwater resigned, Patronis takes 47 percent in the poll which was released on Wednesday morning. Hattersley gets 37 percent in the poll while 16 percent are undecided.

Patronis faced no opposition in the Republican primary. On the Democratic side, Hattersley, who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2020, also faced no opposition in the primary.

Patronis gets 54 percent of men while Hatterlsey takes 33 percent of them. Women are more divided with 41 percent of them for Patronis and 40 percent for Hatterlsey.

Both candidates have nailed down their party bases. Patronis reels in 82 percent of Republicans while Hattersley pulls in 79 percent of Democrats. Voters outside the major parties go for Patronis with the CFO taking 42 percent of them while Hatterlsey claims 28 percent of them and 29 percent of them are undecided.

The poll of 800 likely Florida voters was taken from Sept. 26 through Sept. 28 and had a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percent.
