In the aftermath of the terrorist attack against Israel and the runup to the weekend, on Thursday, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis pledged law enforcement resources to state and local law enforcement agencies in Florida.
“Within my agency we have over 300 sworn law enforcement officials who’ll often provide support services to state and local authorities in times of emergency. In the aftermath of the terrorist attack against Israel, like many Jewish and Israeli citizens in Florida, we are at a heightened state of alert. As we get closer to the weekend there will be more parties and social gatherings, so I want to make sure my agency is leaning forward in case our services are needed. If anything looks out of the ordinary, go ahead and report it to law enforcement. Florida has the best trained, best supported first responders in the world. While we always hope for the best, it’s our job to prepare for the worst,” Patronis said.
Housed within the Department of Financial Services, which is overseen by the CFO, is the Division of Investigative & Forensic Services, which has the agency’s law enforcement personnel.
