On Monday, state Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis appointed Bo Rivard to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors.
Like Patronis, Rivard is based out of Panama City where he is a partner at Harrison, Rivard, Duncan and Buzzett. Rivard is no stranger to public service, including serving as chairman of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Patronis weighed in on the appointment on Monday.
“Bo has been a fierce advocate for both Florida families and business for more than 20 years, and I’m thrilled that he will be joining the Citizens board. He has seen first-hand the financial impact of natural disasters, and I know he will work tirelessly for every policyholder. Bo’s experience with statewide boards and commissions, as well as his private and public sector work and depth of skill, will help this board better serve each and every Floridian,” Patronis said.
“I’m honored to be part of Citizens and to help give a voice for Florida homeowners. My top priority is to ensure Floridians are at the forefront of every decision made, and I look forward to advocating every day for the families who call our state home. I thank CFO Jimmy Patronis for his confidence in me, and I look forward to serving the people of Florida in this new capacity,” Rivard said.
Replacing John McKay on the board, Rivard’s term begins immediately and expires at the end of July 2020.
