A new poll shows former Vice President Joe Biden is far ahead of the rest of the Democratic presidential primary field in Florida–but there is a surprising candidate in second place.
On Wednesday, St. Pete Polls unveiled a poll of likely voters in the Florida Democratic primary taken for Florida Politics and found Biden far ahead of the pack.
Biden takes 41 percent of Florida Democrats with former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg in second with 17 percent while 10 percent remain undecided.
The rest of the field follows in single digits. U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., pulls 9 percent followed by U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. with 7 percent, former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 6 percent, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. with 5 percent. Two candidates who have never held political office–businessmen Andrew Yang and Tom Steyer–both pull 2 percent each.
The primary will be held on March 17.
The poll of 2,590 likely Democratic presidential primary voters in Florida was taken from Jan. 27 through Jan. 28 and had a margin of error of +/- 1.9 percent.
