Running for a second term in Congress, U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., announced this week that former President Donald Trump endorsed her.
“Congresswoman Kat Cammack is doing a terrific job representing the people of Florida in Congress! Kat is working hard to secure our border, promote American agriculture, defend the Second Amendment, support our brave first responders, military and vets, and hold Joe Biden and the radical left accountable for their ongoing failures. The youngest Republican woman in Congress, Kat is a fighter for our America First agenda and our country’s future. Kat has my complete and total endorsement!” Trump announced.
“I am honored to have President Trump’s support. As a part of the America First movement, having Trump’s endorsement means so much to our campaign. He’s a leader who always puts our people, country, and future first,” Cammack responded to the endorsement.
While her district could be impacted as the redistricting process continues, for the moment, Cammack is not considered vulnerable as she runs for a second term. She faces businessman Manuel Asensio and attorney and Navy veteran Justin Water in the primary. Danielle Hawk, Andrew Robinson, Milton Sumpter and Tom Wells are running for the Democratic nomination in what is, for now, a secure Republican district.
Cammack burst on the political scene in 2012 as she helped guide large animal veterinarian Ted Yoho to an upset win in the GOP primary over longtime U.S. Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla. In 2020, after working on Yoho’s congressional staff for eight years, Cammack was elected to Congress.
