U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., named a member of the Florida delegation to the American Economy Task Force.
The task force is a group of Republicans “committed to promoting and supporting a legislative agenda that prioritizes the American worker, encourages economic freedom in the marketplace, the rolling back burdensome regulations, and reshapes the vision for America’s economic future.”
McCarthy named freshman U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., to the group which is led by U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-NC.
“The American Economy Task Force is committed to promoting legislation that spurs job creation, prioritizes the American Worker, and creates meaningful reforms that incentivize innovation in the marketplace to match a fast-paced and multi-faceted 21st Century economy. I’m grateful to Leader Kevin McCarthy for this appointment and opportunity to work with my colleagues as we develop policies which transform, revitalize, and restore our economy to ensure a brighter and prosperous future for all Americans,” Donalds said on Tuesday.
Donalds is in the only member of the Florida delegation on the task force.
First elected to Congress last year after four years in the state House, Donalds represents parts of Southwest Florida.
