Keystone Pipeline Ready to Move Forward with New Trump Administration

The Executive Order signed by President Donald Trump to re-open the Keystone Pipeline XL has Danielle Smith, the Premier of Alberta, Canada, ready to resume talks on moving forward with the project.

The pipeline was constructed to bring oil from Alberta to states like Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois. Energy experts say the reopening of the pipeline will have a direct impact on lowering food and energy costs for Americans.

Jason Isaac, CEO of the American Energy Institute, says getting the Keystone Pipeline back online will help reduce transportation and energy costs that significantly impact food prices.

“This project strengthens energy security, fosters economic growth, and directly contributes to making energy and food more affordable for American families,” said Issac.

While this is a plus for the economy, there will be obstacles before the pipeline is given a green light.

Last year, before the November election, Florida Daily reported that in advance of a potential Trump victory, environmentalists were already forecasting that they would plan to clog up the court system with lawsuits on items that promotes any energy policies coming from the Trump administration.

“Litigation is sure to occur,” Steve Milloy, a senior fellow at the Energy & Environmental Legal Institute and former Trump EPA transition team member,

Milloy says Congress will need to jump in to make sure that litigation is limited, and the pipeline moves forward with completion.

The Trump White House says constructing the Keystone pipeline will provide thousands of jobs, In fact, in 2022, the Biden administration’s Department of Energy (DOE) put out a report that admitted the Keystone XL pipeline would create up to 59,000 jobs with an economic impact of between $3.4 and 9.6 billion dollars.

Steve Milloy says the Trump administration will, no doubt, provide the needed permits for completing the Keystone XL.
