A new Fox News poll reveals that a large majority of Americans believe the federal government has not been transparent about its handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. Only 13% of respondents said they think the government has been open about the matter, while 67% said it has not.
Skepticism cuts across political lines, with 60% of Republicans and 56% of self-identified MAGA supporters saying the government has not been forthcoming. Among Democrats, 74% expressed disappointment in the government’s transparency, compared to just 9% who believe it has been open. Independents also shared that sentiment, with 64% saying the government has been secretive and just 10% believing otherwise.
Commenting on the poll results, political analyst Bill Kristol noted the unusually broad agreement across party lines. “What’s striking is the relative uniformity of voters’ judgments,” Kristol said. “Even among Republicans, the split is 60 percent to 18 percent.”
He added, “It turns out everyone is interested in the Epstein files. Which is why the White House is panicking.”
