Marco Rubio, Rick Scott in Solid Shape With Florida Voters, UNF Poll Finds

The Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) at the University of North Florida released a poll of registered voters in Florida on Thursday which looks at how voters view U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla.

While they won’t face voters in November, both of Florida’s two U.S. senators are in good shape according to a new poll.

The Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) at the University of North Florida released a poll of registered voters in Florida on Thursday which looks at how voters view U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla.

Rubio has the approval of almost half of those surveyed–49 percent–while 36 percent disapprove of him. Most Republicans–77 percent–approve of how Rubio is performing on Capitol Hill while only 23 percent of Democrats approve of the senator. Rubio does well with voters outside the major parties with 49 percent approving of him while around a third–32 percent–disapprove of him.

Scott is approved by 44 percent of voters while 36 percent of them disapprove of him. Most Republicans–74 percent–approve of Scott while only 19 percent of Democrats approve of him. Voters outside the major parties are divided on Scott with 41 percent of them approving of him while 37 percent disapprove of him.

The poll of 725 registered voters in Florida was taken from Feb. 10 through Feb. 18 and had a margin of error of +/- 3.6 percent.
