The National Education Association (NEA) just held a workshop where teachers were instructed on how to “properly address” students when talking about LGBT topics.
One of their training sessions were titled, “Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice and Transgender Advocacy.
National grassroots organization Defending Education listed the agenda and the union’s where they threw conservatives under the bus for opposing gender identity issues being taught in public schools.
At the meeting, conservative groups were referred to as “villains and insane asylum.”
The NEA promoted the event to its members as a way to gian deeper understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and the issues critical to providing support and guidance that is not only inclusive but “liberating.”
One of the promotion pieces handed out to the union members read, “goals of the training include establishing a “common understandings about the identities under the LGBTQ+ community umbrella,” developing a “shared understanding of the anti LGBTQ+ policy landscape and how to develop counter narratives of inclusion and equity,” deepening “skills and strategies to confront implicit bias, micro-aggressions and stereotypes in the LGBTQ+ community,” and creating “a toolset of tactics for dismantling systems of privilege and oppression as it relates to LGBTQ+ educators and students.”
It didn’t stop there. The NEA said it was time to confront the issue of men in girls’ sports.
Defending Education said brochures were handed out to teachers on how to effectively communicate the benefits of biological men playing in girls’ sports.
“Over the last ten years, Republicans in state legislatures (like Florida) have increasingly turned to anti-transgender rhetoric and legislation as a powerful complement to their arsenal of racist dog whistles used to whip up fear and consolidate power,” said the NEA.
Defending Education, told Fox News Digital that the NEA is sending the wrong message to both educators and students with the DEI training materials.
