With the 2024 Presidential Election less than six months away, more than half of Democrats recently polled by Rasmussen said they favor ditching President Joe Biden in his quest for re-election.
“In February, 48% of Democratic Party voters said they would approve of their party finding another candidate to replace Biden, but that number has now risen to 54%, including 25% of Democrats who would Strongly Approve of replacing Biden before the election,” Rassmussen’s poll summary reads.
Other findings from the poll include:
- 49% of likely voters would approve of Democrats finding another candidate to replace Biden
- 24% of likely voters would strongly approve of Biden being replaced with a new Democratic candidate.
- 37% of likely voters would disapprove of a Biden switch.
- 23% of likely voters would strongly disapprove of a Biden switch
- 13% of likely voters are not sure how they would feel about a Biden switch.
The survey of 1,113 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on May 20-22, 2024 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
