Morning Consult released a new poll this week showing both of Florida’s U.S. senators in good shape.
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., has the approval of 48 percent of Florida voters while 33 percent disapprove of him and 19 percent are not sure about him. U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., has the approval of 47 percent of Florida voters while 36 percent disapprove of him and 18 percent are not sure.
Rubio and Scott failed to crack the top 10 most popular senators in the nation, almost all of whom came from some of the least populated states in the nation. The top 10 included U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.; John Barrasso, R-Wy.; Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.; Mike Enzi, R-Wy.; Angus King, I-Maine; John Hoeven, R-ND; Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; Jack Reed, D-RI; Chris Coons, D-Del.; and John Thune, R-SD.
On the other hand, Rubio and Scott also stayed out of the bottom 10. The most unpopular senators in the nation included U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine; U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; U.S. Sens. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Bob Menendez, D-NJ; Cory Gardner, R-Col; Martha McSally, R-Ariz.; Deb Fischer, R-Neb.; Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.; and Rand Paul, R-Ky.
Morning Consult conducted 494,899 surveys with registered U.S. voters from October 1 through December 31, 2019, to determine the Q4 2019 Senator Rankings. The margin of error for the Florida sample was +/- 1 percent.
