New Poll Shows South Florida Voters Trust Dentists Over Politicians

EDGE Communications, a leading Miami-based public affairs firm, released a new poll that underscores a clear message from Miami-Dade County residents: when it comes to water quality and public health, voters overwhelmingly trust dentists – not politicians –  to guide policy.

The online poll of 1,049 Miami-Dade voters, reveals that residents support continuing current water treatment practices, including the addition of fluoride, by a nearly 20-point margin. Intensity is especially strong among supporters, with “strongly support” nearly doubling “strongly oppose,” affirming deep public confidence in longstanding public health strategies.

“When asked a very simple question: do they support or oppose adding fluoride to drinking water, residents overwhelmingly support the current standards for water quality treatment and public health strategies,” said, citing the poll memo results. “This isn’t about politics, it’s about protecting our families and standing with science and public health.”

Key Findings from the Poll:

Miami-Dade residents trust dentists over politicians when it comes to decisions about water quality and public health.

Support for current fluoride standards is strong, with a nearly 20-point advantage in favor of continuing proven public health practices.
