Paula White: Donald Trump Never Stops Fighting for U.S. Seniors

During a recent White House event, the president revealed that his administration has struck a groundbreaking deal with two retail pharmacy giants to deliver the life-saving coronavirus vaccine to nursing home residents, free of cost, as soon as it becomes available.

President Donald Trump’s impressive list of accomplishments on behalf of U.S. seniors just keeps getting longer.

During a recent White House event, the president revealed that his administration has struck a groundbreaking deal with two retail pharmacy giants to deliver the life-saving coronavirus vaccine to nursing home residents, free of cost, as soon as it becomes available.

“Today I am thrilled to announce that we have just finalized a partnership with CVS and Walgreens to immediately deliver the vaccine directly to nursing homes at no cost to our seniors,” the president said, adding that seniors will be “first in line” to receive the forthcoming vaccine.

“My message to America’s seniors today is one of optimism, confidence and hope,” he continued. “Your sacrifice has not been in vain. The light at the need of the tunnel is near. We are rounding the turn.”

Since the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Trump administration has been working with the private sector to develop an effective vaccine for the novel coronavirus — a vaccine that older Americans desperately need, given that age is one of the greatest known risk factors for COVID patients.

Of course, Donald Trump’s commitment to U.S. seniors long predates this deadly disease. For the past three years, the president has implemented policies that lowered healthcare costs for older Americans and has kept his promise to protect Social Security.

“I said from day one that we’re going to protect Social Security, and we’re going to protect our people,” he said earlier this summer, vowing to continue safeguarding the program along with Medicare.

Thanks to his ongoing campaign to make healthcare more affordable and more transparent, seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D have already saved around $2 billion in premium cuts over the past three years, and will soon be able to purchase insulin for just $35 per month or less.

Every single one of these victories could be erased if we don’t make wise decisions at the ballot box this November — Democratic nominee former Vice President Joe Biden is determined to undo everything the president has fought so hard to achieve for our seniors.

For most of his long political career, Biden wanted to cut Social Security benefits, arguing that Washington needs to make tough decisions in order to balance the budget. “I tried with Senator Grassley back in the ‘80s to freeze all government spending, including Social Security. Including everything,” he said in 1995, later repeating his stance in 2007.

His apathetic attitude toward Social Security appears to have translated into his current policy platform — despite the fact that Social Security is facing serious solvency challenges, the former vice president has recently proposed to make the program even bigger than it was before. He plans to pay for that largesse with a tax hike that won’t even raise enough money to make up the system’s current shortfall.

Biden has also been highly critical of President Trump’s efforts to secure a life-saving vaccine for the American people, taking every opportunity to discredit the hard work of our country’s finest doctors and medical researchers. In fact, Biden even said that he would not take a coronavirus vaccine that was touted by the president, suggesting it would not be safe. For the sake of his supporters, let’s hope they don’t share that cynical attitude.

American seniors have an important choice to make in this election, a choice that will fundamentally impact their lives for many years to come. But no matter who they decide to back in November, one thing is certain — no politician in Washington will fight harder for their interests than President Trump.
