Two weeks after President Joe Biden’s poor debate performance spurred panic among Democratic Party leadership, new poll results indicate that American voters are skeptical about Biden’s hand in presidential decisions.
A survey by Rasmussen Reports found that that just 38% of Likely U.S. voters now say Biden is really doing the job of president – down from 40% a year ago – while 52% believe others are making decisions for Biden behind the scenes. Another 10% are not sure.
Only 26% of voters are “Very confident” that Biden is “physically and mentally up to the job of being President of the United States.” Another 18% say they are “Somewhat confident” in Biden’s capability, while 11% are “Not very confident”, and 44% are Not At All Confident. These findings have changed little since last July.
