With the Primary Election for Florida Governor under three weeks away, a trending issue appears to be impacting the Republican Party’s frontrunner, Congressman Byron Donalds.
Florida Daily polled more than 800 self-described Republican voters, including 580 supporting candidates other than Donalds. The majority of those voters cited Donalds’ embrace of data centers as the primary reason they support alternative candidates ranging from former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner and current Lt. Governor Jay Collins to businessman James Fishback and humanitarian Bobby Williams.
Voters in support of Fishback, Renner, and Williams all cited Donald’s embrace of data centers as the top reason for their opposition.
Among Collins’ supporters in the poll, the top reason for voting against Donalds was his ties to major corporations and PACs, with 38% of them citing those ties as the top reason, compared to 32% who cited Donalds’ embrace of data centers, while 18% cited Donalds’ voting record, and 2% cited Trump’s endorsement as a turnoff.

I appreciated Trump’s endorcement & originally thought Donald’s was our guy. But, after taking the time to search through what each man has been doing for FL, I decided for Collins. I don’t expect Trump to know everything about everyone & he may have endorsed too soon, but it’s our responsibility to search out the facts. It’s our vote!
